Public Space Protection Orders consultation
Method

Consultation information
Public Space Protection Orders (PSPOs) were introduced in Surrey Heath in 2017 and 2020, respectively, and are part of the Anti-Social Behaviour Crime and Policing Act 2014.
They are designed to deal with a particular nuisance or problem in a specific public space or area that is detrimental to the local communities’ quality of life, by introducing a number of orders which will apply to everyone. The framework enables the Council and Surrey Police to deal with low level anti-social behaviour that relates to psychoactive substances, alcohol control zones, begging in Camberley Town Centre and dog ownership, for detailed information on the existing orders click here.
The orders have resulted in the Council being able to deal effectively with a wide range of complaints and although no formal prosecutions have been carried it does enable action to be taken when appropriate and proportionate in dealing with issues relating to anti-social behaviour.
This is an opportunity for you to offer your feedback, thoughts and questions relating to this proposal.
