Arts, culture and heritage events fund

Information about the arts, culture and heritage events fund. This has now closed and applications are not currently being accepted.

Criteria

Grants available

  • minimum grant available: £500
  • maximum grant available: £1,000
  • the Council will pay for 75% of the total project costs
  • the organisation will need to fund 25% of the total eligible project costs

Please note, payments will be made retrospectively on receipt of paid receipted invoices, proof that any necessary permissions have been obtained and evidence that the event has taken place.

Event criteria

  • events must be focused on supporting arts, culture, heritage and creative activities in the Borough
  • the funded events take place in Surrey Heath and bring together a minimum of 50 people
  • are inclusive – including supporting vulnerable people who otherwise might not be able to take part in arts, culture, heritage and creative events
  • support local community engagement and cohesion
  • promote wellbeing
  • have a clear delivery plan
  • grants can be used to contribute to the costs of holding a community event including food, but not to pay for the costs of any alcohol
  • events must take place on or before Sunday 17 March 2024
  • events must take place in Surrey Heath
  • we will consider grants for events that are already scheduled however the applicant would need to demonstrate the added value related to arts, culture, heritage and creative activities

Additional information

  • prioritisation will be given to events taking place outside of Camberley Town Centre, this is due to an existing events programme in Camberley
  • the grant scheme is the Council’s own. There is no legal requirement for the authority to have such a scheme in place; therefore all grants are awarded at the Council’s discretion and there is no right of appeal if an application is refused.
  • no retrospective applications will be considered.
  • event organisers can apply for no more than one grant per organisation
  • payments will be made retrospectively on receipt of paid receipted invoices, proof that any necessary permissions have been obtained and evidence that the event has been taken place.
