Camberley town centre has had an injection of colour with striking new art displays.  The pieces entitled ‘Surrey Heath Alive!’ have been created collaboratively with 'Mural Artists', 'Imageskool' and local senior school children, and depict different elements of Camberley and Surrey Heath – including our landmarks and wildlife.

Many thanks to Hall Grove School, Woodcote House School, Gordon's School, Collingwood College, Kings International College and Carwarden House School for their brilliant creative ideas and contributions to the artwork. The children from Year groups 7-9 (age 11-14) researched local landmarks and wildlife in the borough and produced a number of sketches and drawings which feature in the art pieces at workshops held back in the autumn 2024.

The Mayor of Surrey Heath, Councillor Sarbie Kang was joined with the schools involved and Surrey Heath Borough Council councillors and officers at a special unveiling event on Saturday 22 March 2025.

The Mayor of Surrey Heath Councillor Sarbie Kang said;

“I absolutely love these new artworks.  They bring colour and vibrancy to the town centre brightening up walls and spaces.  We have some very talented young artists in Surrey Heath, and I want to thank them on behalf of the council for bringing their creativity to Camberley.”

Councillor Kel Finan-Cooke, Portfolio Holder for Property and Economic Development, Surrey Heath Borough Council added;

“These large pieces bring something very special and unique to Camberley and look amazing!  The young people involved in their creation have invested in their local town centre and their work will bring enjoyment to many people.  I’m proud that the council was able to facilitate such a lovely project.”
