The Camberley strategic vision consultation received over 500 responses from residents and businesses. The vision focuses on creating a vibrant, sustainable, and well-connected town centre that supports both economic growth and social well-being.
The consultation aimed to gather valuable insights on how the town centre should evolve in the coming years, ensuring it meets the needs and aspirations of the community. The feedback was gathered through an online survey and a series of consultation events, including community sessions and a business breakfast.
Councillor Kel Finan Cooke, Portfolio Holder for Property and Economic Development, Surrey Heath Borough Council said;
“Many thanks to everyone who has provided feedback. This document outlines where we want to see the future of Camberley evolve over the next ten or more years, providing a solid platform for attracting investors and enabling the council to submit stronger applications for external funding opportunities when they become available.
We appreciate that with the backdrop of local government reorganisation and public sector finances some of these aspirations will need to adapt and we will continue to update residents and businesses when changes emerge.
As a council we aim to be open and transparent and engage with residents on key issues such as the future of Camberley. Both officers and councillors are always open to discussions and will continue to meet with businesses and developers seeking to invest in the borough.”
