Surrey Heath Borough Council in partnership with Frimley Health and Care Integrated Care System NHS, have installed a health kiosk in The Square shopping centre in Camberley.
The Mayor of Surrey Heath, Councillor Pat Tedder was one of the first to use the machine at a special event to launch the kiosk on 9 May. This event was also attended by representatives from NHS Frimley and Surrey Heath Borough Council Councillors.
Councillor Morgan Rise, Net Zero, Well-being & Environment Portfolio Holder, Surrey Heath Borough Council said;
“It’s important that we all take care of our health – and keeping an eye on our blood pressure and weight is important.
The kiosk is very simple and quick to use and will take your blood pressure and calculate your Body Mass Index (BMI) from your weight and height readings. You'll get a printout of your results which you can take to your GP if necessary. I encourage everyone to use the kiosk.”
This initiative is sits alongside the Libraries Loan scheme for blood pressure monitors available in Camberley, Frimley Green, Lightwater and Ash Libraries, the Community Pharmacy and GP practice offers.
The Kiosk is located in Central Square, opposite the Customer Services Desk and will be available until 21 July 2024.
