A fly tipper has been ordered to pay more than £1,000 after a successful prosecution by Surrey Heath Borough Council.

Jimmy Loveridge of Swift Lane, Bagshot pleaded guilty at Guildford Magistrates Court on 19 November 2024 to the offence of dumping business waste, and was ordered to pay Surrey Heath Borough Council £1,010 for clear up and investigation. A 12-month conditional discharge was also imposed.

CCTV evidence showed garden waste and builders’ rubbish being dumped from a flatbed truck in November 2023 at a fly tipping hotspot in Windlesham.

After a thorough investigation by Surrey Heath Borough Council Corporate Enforcement team, which identified Mr Loveridge as the owner of the vehicle, the conviction was secured.

Surrey Heath Portfolio Holder for Homes, Planning and Enforcement, Cllr Alan Ashbery said: “This prosecution shows how seriously we take fly tipping and other environmental crimes.

“We are committed to protecting our environment, and secured this result because of the hard work of our officers.
