Camberley is undergoing transformation to create a unique, vibrant, and modern town centre.
Following consultation with residents and key stakeholders, Surrey Heath Borough Council has developed a comprehensive strategic plan aimed at making Camberley a hub for independent shopping, dining, and premium leisure experiences.

Councillor Shaun Macdonald, Leader, Surrey Heath Borough Council said;
“The council is committed to enhancing Camberley town centre; however, we recognise that this cannot be achieved in isolation. We will work with our partners and stakeholders to ensure that we build on progress already made.
Whilst we understand there are significant challenges ahead, it is crucial that we continue to improve the town centre, deliver new homes, and maintain sound financial management.”
This plan aims to foster an entrepreneurial spirit while enhancing public spaces, new housing, cultural offerings, digital connectivity and aligns with the Council’s priorities of:

Recent developments include a programme of improvements to The Square shopping centre including roof repairs and installing new solar photovoltaic panels, public realm enrichments, a new leisure centre, better transport links and investments in cultural infrastructure and digital technology. All designed to ensure Camberley continues to be a highly desirable place to live, work and socialise.
The council is keen to ensure that this momentum continues and have allocated a number of key development sites within the emerging Local Plan. These sites provide an opportunity for an enhanced mix of uses, new homes, new open space and green infrastructure and improved connectivity. Ensuring a strong sense of community and an excellent quality of life for its residents and visitors.
