Surrey Heath Borough Council and our partners are here for you this winter. The support available includes grants, food vouchers and warm places to visit.
Councillor Lisa Finan-Cooke, Portfolio Holder for Inclusion and Housing, Surrey Heath Borough Council said: “We know that the cost-of-living crisis continues to make life challenging for many in Surrey Heath, and winter can place more stress on all of us as we need to keep our houses warm, ensure we have enough food for our families and also prepare for Christmas.
To help with the next few months we are promoting the various schemes and grants that are available to provide support to local residents who are facing hardship this Winter.
There are many Warm Welcome Venues that we have helped set up in locations such as libraries, community centres and church halls. If you could use some company or a place to keep warm during the day, please visit one of these places.
There are also national cost of living support initiatives – these include cost of living payments if you claim certain benefits. You can also claim food vouchers and receive help and advice from Citizen’s Advice Surrey Heath.”
