Grass cutting in parks and open spaces

Our grounds maintenance provider, Glendale (external website) cut the grass in our parks and open spaces.

Amenity areas in parks and open spaces are cut 12 times a year. This ensures that recreation, events and other activities can take place. There may also be a need to maintain some areas for visibility, access or highway safety.

All open spaces are being reviewed over the course of the contract with Glendale to ensure that we protect wildlife and enhance biodiversity as much as possible.

Long grass regimes will be considered carefully in order to avoid creating a fire hazard and ensure safety is maintained along pathways and at roadsides.

Our Greenspace Team are also introducing more wildflower locations, expanding on the areas developed since 2019.
