A guide to options available if you are worried about money and the cost of living.

Household Support Fund

On 2 September 2024 the Government announced it would be extending the Household Support Fund for a further six months.  This page will be updated when we have more details on the funding allocated to Surrey Heath.

Who can apply

You can apply if you: 

  • live in Surrey Heath 
  • receive benefits like Universal Credit or Pension Credit
  • are state pension age
  • are on a low income
  • claim a disability benefit
  • have not received any government cost of living payments 

Proof you need

You will need to provide the following proof:

  • ID (for example a passport or driving licence)
  • Proof of address (for example a recent utility bill)
  • Recent bank statements and/or evidence of benefit awarded.

If you are unsure you are receiving all the benefits or tax credits you are entitled to or are worried about debt the Household Support Fund advice service may be able to help.

Citizen’s Advice have teamed up with Surrey County Council to offer tailored financial advice to check that your finances are in the best shape they can be. To find out more, please contact Surrey’s Welfare Line on 0300 200 1008 and ask to be referred for ‘Household Support Fund advice service'.
