Energy advice appointments
The Energy Advice Programme is part of a national Citizens Advice initiative aiming to provide specialist energy advice for clients who are in fuel poverty or at risk of being in fuel poverty.
Citizens Advice Surrey Heath can offer support with a variety of energy matters including:
- Help with an emergency top up if in emergency credit.
- Discussing options for energy debts.
- Understanding energy bills.
- How to switch energy supplier or tariff.
- Eligibility for any energy grants or useful services.
- Increasing energy efficiency and reducing energy usage.
- Information on Smart meters.
- Eligibility and signing up for the Priority Services Register.
Crisis Support
You may be eligible for support via:
- Surrey Crisis Fund
- the Household Support Fund
- Charitable funds for fuel vouchers or other essentials.
- Food bank referrals
Conditions apply regarding eligibility and you will be required to provide ID and evidence in the form of bank statements.
Budgeting MOT appointments
Citizens Advice Surrey Heath offer the opportunity to review your finances to help your money go further this winter. This includes:
- A benefits check to ensure you are receiving everything you are entitled to
- A debt assessment to review what debts you may have and the best ways to deal with these
- An income and expenditure budget sheet so you can see where you are spending your money and where savings could be made.
- Tips for maximising your income and reducing expenditure

If you are disabled, it is free to join the coalition and access support from their dedicated staff member with reducing your fuel costs. Support can be offered via telephone or video appointments with:
- joining the priority services register
- help with energy grant applications
