Celebrate Surrey Heath Borough Council turning 50

Surrey Heath celebrates 50 years serving our local communities

Surrey Heath Borough Council turns 50 on 1 April 2024.

We share this milestone with many other borough councils established after the Local Government Act of 1972. Surrey Heath was created by combining two former districts – Frimley and Camberley Urban District and Bagshot Rural District.

We’re calling on residents and businesses to help us celebrate this brilliant milestone.

Organise an event

If you'd like to organise an event to celebrate our 50th anniversary between April and July, you can add the details to our events webpage

If you would like to add details of your event, please contact web.support@surreyheath.gov.uk (link sends email) with the details.

View information and advice on organising a community event or street party.

Share your photos and memories

You can also take part in our celebrations by sharing your favourite memory, moment or thing about Surrey Heath on social media by uploading photos using #SurreyHeathAt50.

You can also email us your photographs and videos too! We'd be grateful if you could include a few lines about what the picture/video shows and when it was taken. Please email:  web.support@surreyheath.gov.uk (link sends email)

Decorate the borough

Whether it be postbox toppers, floral displays, trees planted or memories of a previous event, share it with us on Facebook and X using #SurreyHeathAt50.

We’re hoping to come together with our communities to look back on the last 50 years of public service, and look towards the next 50 years to come.
