SHBC Greenspace team leader Steve Harris is the face of the environmentally-friendly scheme, which encourages local people to recycle their real trees and #MakeSteveSmile.   

 

The scheme, which offered 15 drop off sites across the Borough from 4-17 January, collected 1,330 trees from residents.  

 

These trees will be turned into wood chippings and used to replenish the paths in the Borough’s green spaces.  

 

This year we will also be contributing some of the wood chippings to help support projects at local schools being undertaken by the Surrey Heath Tree Wardens. 

 

There are plans to run the scheme again in January 2022.
