Paragraph 73 of the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) requires plan-making authorities to identify and update annually a five year supply of deliverable housing sites. The Five Year Housing Land Supply Paper sets out the housing supply position in Surrey Heath against the local housing need figure, as at August 2019 for the five year period 2019-2024.
The local housing need figure for Surrey Heath is calculated using the government’s standard method. This derives a figure of 332 dwellings per annum.
Having regard to the local housing need figure, the Council can currently demonstrate a 5.52 year housing land supply.
Supply is based on:
- Sites with planning permission not yet started;
- Sites with planning permission under construction;
- Sites with prior notification approval granted;
- Allocated sites; and
- C2 housing (using number of bedspaces divided by the average number of adults living in households in the Borough).
