The report following the independent investigation into the award of an additional duties allowance has been presented to the Council's Employment Committee. Browne Jacobson, the legal firm appointed to undertake the investigation, has advised that the report should be considered alongside other matters, which are still ongoing.
In December the Council announced that it would release the report either in full or in part. At this stage we are not in a position to confirm when this will be.
We understand there may be frustration at the time this is taking. However as stated in August the Council is committed to thoroughly and robustly investigating this matter but this must be completed in a fair and just manner - which can take time.
